2016 Leadership Academy

By | | Virginia TSA

November 18-19 saw 140 Virginia TSA members and advisors gathering at the Wyndham Crossings in Glen Allen, VA. for the annual Leadership Academy. The goal of this Leadership Event is to encourage and develop leadership among Virginia TSA members to use at the local, state and national levels. Friday evening was a time to get to know one another and hear what caused the current Virginia TSA Executive council to become interested in being leaders. Several Ice Breaker activities were held and heard an inspiring speech by current Tennessee TSA State President, Simon Jolly and Immediate Past President Blake McKinney. Theyexplained how their experiences in TSA have helped them inside and outside of TSA and challenged the attendees to make the most of their TSA experience. Finally, a meet and greet time with the state officer team ended the evening.  On Saturday groups were rotated through a series of sessions to help develop students skills in leadership. Workshops were designed around reality TV [programs. This years theme was: Channel 2016; Virginia TSA Network.  Lots of good food and fellowship was enjoyed throughout the weekend. Hope to see you at Leadership Academy next year!!
